Toyota Workhorse Range – HiLux!

The Toyota WorkHorse range – HiAce, LandCruiser 70 and HiLux models – are ready to work hard and make playtime a fun time. With exciting new upgrades the HiLux is more comfortable, stylish and versatile than ever.

Aussie tradies know a Toyota HiLux won’t let them down. That’s why, for the fifth year in a row, it was Australia’s number-one selling vehicle in 2020. No matter how tough things get, the HiLux is tougher.

And when the hard work is done, there’s no better choice for a weekend away with the family, a fishing trip to The Cape, or towing the camping gear and dirt bikes to a far horizon.

For the job at hand
While the WorkHorse range has plenty to offer in terms of covering a wide scope of professional and leisure driving, the HiLux models are especially well suited to hard work and tough terrain.

First in the line up is the HiLux WorkMate.

With a choice of either 2.7-litre petrol or 2.4-litre turbo-diesel engines, it means owners can opt for the 122kW of power and 245Nm of torque of the petrol motor, or the 110kW of power and the stonking 400Nm of torque of the diesel. An 8” colour touchscreen display graces the dash and makes the newly added Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™¹ systems dead easy to use. Not only does the quality Bluetooth® connectivity2 keep you in touch as you move from job to job, it makes staying in touch with family a breeze when time is tight and work is pressing hard.

All-weather floormats are standard, and the braked towing capacity3 on 4×2 HiLux diesel models is up to 2800kg. There’s 7 SRS airbags and Toyota Safety Sense4 standard on every HiLux across the range. It includes the Pre-Collision Safety System with Pedestrian and Daytime Cyclist Detection, Road Sign Assist, Active Cruise Control (high-speed), and Lane Departure Alert with steering assist. Toyota Safety Sense4 supports safe driving and helps protect you and your passengers. That adds up to real peace of mind. And tough?

Like every HiLux, the WorkMate is built with high-tensile steel which provides greater upper and underbody strength, and steering and suspension have been tuned to local conditions for excellent overall ride comfort and handling. These vehicles are built to take on Australia’s rough roads, rugged trails and brutal worksites.

HiLux SR
For those who need to tackle the really rough stuff on weekdays and weekends, there’s the HiLux SR Double-Cab. The newly upgraded 2.8-litre turbo-diesel engine produces 150kW of power and an impressive 500Nm of torque on automatic models.

Along with the high-quality features found on every HiLux, the SR includes an airconditioned cooler box for your lunch when on the worksite or keeping cans of soft drink cool on the weekend. An impressive braked towing capacity3 of up to 3500kg on 4×4 models gives the strength needed for the toughest loads.

In addition to Toyota Safety Sense4, on automatic 4×4 Double-Cab Pick-Up models, Downhill Assist Control kicks in on sloping worksites when there’s loads to be hauled. Once activated, speed is reduced to help provide greater control.

Like every HiLux, the SR is built strong and with Australian conditions in mind, and on Double Cab models there are ISOFIX anchors for 2 child restraints in the rear seat, including 2 top tether anchors. As much as the HiLux is built tough, it’s built safe as well, especially for young family members.

But there’s a lot more to the SR than premium safety and incredible durability. On wide-body models, the protruding wheel arches, new angular styling, trapezoid grille, and defined halogen headlamps mean its looks and performance turn heads at work and on the weekend.

Leader for a reason
The decades have proven Toyota HiLux and the WorkHorse range make hard work easy.

Not only are they rugged, dependable and reliable work vehicles, they’re comfortable and good-looking too.
