The Great Escape Machine

About halfway through last century everyone went mental over a movie scene where an actor jumped a motorcycle over a wire fence to escape the German army who were following on bikes and sidecars. It was one of those movie scenes which set the world on fire and is still talked about now, nearly 60 years later.

The movie was The Great Escape, the actor Steve McQueen, and the bike a Triumph.

Now the British motorcycle company has a released a limitededition tribute model based on its sensational 1200 Scrambler.Fair dinkum. The editor near wet himself when he saw this bike.

Each unit is individually numbered with only 1000 available worldwide, and there’s unique Steve McQueen branding on the tank and handlebar clamp. The paint is an exclusive ‘Competition Green’, and there’s a heap of high-spec, premium Scrambler accessories fitted as standard. It even comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by the actor’s son Chad McQueen and Triumph’s CEO, Nick Bloor.
