Seeing The Great Outdoors

And taking the great indoors with you.

Hooking up to a caravan or camper and heading to Australia’s fabulous destinations must be one of this country’s greatest pleasures. From the Pacific to the Indian and from Tassie to Cape York, Australia’s a paradise for those looking to get away from the grind of work and the close confinement of the cities.

Which places are the best? And what kind of equipment should a camper, caravanner or RV driver be looking for?

What Tradies Want has a few suggestions. For starters one of our favourite places in the world to visit is The Great Ocean Road in Victoria. Around 240km of glorious driving, excellent, vibrant communities and amazing sights, it’s an absolutely premium destination for Aussies.

One of our favourite places to stay there is the Marengo Holiday Park.

With spectacular views of the ocean and with easy access to the 100km Great Ocean Walk, the Marengo Holiday Park has a heap of unpowered sites, powered sites and cabins, most of which have ocean views. A camp kitchen, amenities block with laundry, playground and outdoor barbeque area are all available to guests, and even pets are welcome if they’re kept on a leash and the owner cleans up after them. The Marengo Reef Marine Sanctuary is nearby, and, overall, it must be one Australia’s best family camping holiday destinations.
