iPhone 11

The new iPhone’s here! The new iPhone’s here! Every nerd in Australia should wet their pants with excitement!

We’re actually big fans of Mac equipment at WTW, but the frenzy over the new phone does seem a little extreme.

Starting at $1199 from Mac – there are all kinds of deals from carriers like Optus and Telstra, but the price ends up about the same – the new phone comes in three variations: the iPhone 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max. The differences are mostly about the camera and screen resolution. The 11 has a 6.1″ Liquid Retina HD screen, the 11 Pro a 5.8″ Super Retina XDR, and the Max Pro a 6.5″ Super Retina XDR. The other big difference is the 11 has a dual-lens camera while the others have a triple-lens rig and some nifty software that allows really wide-angle shooting.

There’s a stack of new colours of course, and there’s some stuff about a couple of them having matte glass or something, but we were a bit bored by that stage of reading the marketing blurb and the footy was on.

Get one from Mac shops and phone stores or just about anywhere, really. Mac’s price for an outright buy on the 11 is $1199, the 11 Pro $1749, Pro Max $1899.
