Extensive new product range at Brisbane National 4×4 and Outdoors Show

Whether it’s a quick getaway or month-long expedition, 4×4 owners, caravanners and campers all profess the need to have gear and gadgets that get the job done simply and efficiently.

A number of products at next week’s National 4×4 and Outdoors Show (March 23-25) will take the ‘rough’ out of ‘roughing it’, highlighting comfort, safety and convenience.

Airbag Man will introduce its new air suspension helper kit to suit the rear suspension of the Ford Ranger and Mazda BT-50.

Incorporating heavy duty Firestone airbags, the bolt-on kit assists in leveling the vehicle under towing load, and is fully-adjustable to suit the weight being carried.

The airbags can be individually inflated to offset load variations front to rear or left to right, and can improve steering and overall handling of the vehicle.

The new PB2000i Inverter Generator from Powerboss by Briggs & Stratton uses computer-controlled technology to supply smooth, steady power to a range of appliances.

Unlike traditional generators, which run at constant high speed regardless of the product being powered, the PB2000i produces DC power which is converted to high-quality AC output.

This steadies the output and cleans power to a level that would be found in the home, making it suitable for powering multiple devices around the campsite and any sensitive electronic equipment and chargers.

Cooper Tires will launch its all-new 19-inch All Terrain tyre for European 4×4 owners at the event.

The 255/55R19 111H Cooper Zeon LTZ All-Terrain will be a direct original equipment replacement for popular vehicles such as the Landrover Discovery 4 and the Volkswagen Amarok Ultimate.

Renowned for its exceptional tyre tread life, Cooper Tires latest release will come backed with a 60,000km warranty, and offer greater off-road traction than the OE model while providing dependable traction in all-weather conditions on road.

The new tyre will be available for sale in late April of 2012.

Australia’s largest manufacturer and distributor of 4×4 accessories, ARB will also boast the largest exhibit at the National 4×4 and Outdoors Show.

A customised Toyota Hilux SR5 will showcase the customisation options possible for 4×4 owners.

These include a safari snorkel, bull bar, rear bar, side steps, winch, spotlights, suspension, canopy, roller draws, wheels and tyres, dual battery, Red Arc DC-DC charger, UHF radio, roof console, touring awning, roof-top tent, on-board compressor, front and rear diff locks, long-range tank, under-vehicle protection, a canopy roof rack and a fridge!

Australian company Jackoff will introduce it’s newest versatile camp companion, the lift-off camper unit, which slides directly onto a tray-back ute.

Constructed from 2.5mm marine grade aluminium, the unit is lighter and stronger than other campers and boasts a host of useful features.

Lockable storage, space-saving drawers, a drop-down table, capacity for an 80L watertank, 9kg gas bottle, Coleman hot water and a 120amp Deep Cycle Battery bring the most sought-after items together in one compact unit.

The product’s flexibility makes it stand apart from others in the market. It can be jacked onto its four legs, rated at 900kg each, allowing it to stand freely while the vehicle is used for exploring or other purposes.

These are just some of the time-saving products and equipment that will be on display from over 135 of the 4×4, caravan and camping industry exhibitors.

Event goers are encouraged to take advantage of the free weekend train service to and from the RNA Showgrounds.

There will be a 30-minute looped service running between Central, Roma Street and Fortitude Valley stations on Saturday the 24th of March and Sunday the 25th of March.

The first service of the day will depart Central Station at 9am and the last service of the day will depart from the RNA Showgrounds at 6:30pm.
