Dyson Pure Hot+Cool Purifier Fan Heater

Dyson makes brilliant gear, there’s no doubt about that. Dyson vacuum cleaners really suck, and when it comes to blowing really hard a Dyson hand dryer will cover a pair of hands completely.

This purifier heats a whole room and purifies the air, too – but not at the same time. We were quietly bludging away at our desks, waiting for knockoff time, so we decided to work through all the disclaimers on this equipment, and that’s one of them. It doesn’t filter out bastard pollutants while it’s heating.

But that’s by the by. In the important stuff, it’s wicked.

The Dyson Pure Hot+Cool purifier fan heater automatically detects airborne particles and gases, then diagnoses and reports them in real time so you can be certain about what horrible crap you’re breathing in. It then uses whizz-bang activated carbon filters to remove gases – not oxygen, we’re guessing – and sealed HEPA filters to capture 99.95% of ultrafine particles such as allergens and pollutants.

We don’t know if that includes that Coronavirus shit, but we hope so. We’ve had enough of that, thank you very much.

Anyhoo, as well as keeping the air clean and breathable, this thing has a night-time mode which…does some other stuff. We were bored by that stage and someone started yelling in the carpark so we went for a look.

But seriously, if you’re not cleaning the air with this gadget, you’re Dyson with death!

Grab a Hot+Cool from Harvey Norman or The Good Guys for $899. You can log on to dyson.com.au and get one as well. It’ll cost you the same, but you won’t have to breathe the nasty air at the shops.
