BuildPro BackPro Belts

Many years of onsite and sporting injuries have taken their toll on my body, and the day-to-day weight of my old lopsided tool belt is often the straw that breaks the camel’s back.

A hammer, drill, impact driver and all the other added hand tools and accessories add up to a heap of extra weight, and over the years it’s led to a lot of physiotherapy and chiro appointments. I’m yet to meet a tradie whose experience is any different.

BuildPro has designed a tool-belt to help combat and help prevent work-related back problems (not for the incorrect lifting of heavy materials, but from many hours of day-to-day use of heavy, unsupported tool belts). It’s been endorsed by the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) and Chiropractic Australia (CA).

So let’s get it on!

Test #1: Comfort

The great news is the BuildPro BackPro is the most comfortable belt I’ve ever tried on. The underbelt is made from many different layers and a combination of materials to not only make them strong, flexible and long-lasting, but extremely comfortable, with the 100% natural wool felt on the side that’s against your body. It also breathes well in warmer climates.

Made from full-grain and premium top-grain leather which comes from the top layer of the hide, it breathes without absorbing moisture. The additional support harness helps take the weight off the lower back and gives extra support and comfort for longer periods of use.

  • The only tool belt endorsed by Physiotherapy Association Australia and Chiropractic Australia
  • ‘Weightlifter’ style curved belt
  • Extreme comfort
  • Tough leather straps.

Test #2: Manoeuvrability

Looking at the BuildPro BackPro belt, you’d think it’s a little constricting with the larger upward ‘weightlifter’ curved belt and an additional harness system. But I felt completely comfortable and was able to manoeuvre up and down scaffolding and ladders with ease. Picking up things low on the ground was a snap. You feel a high level of back support without your day-to-day job being hindered. The belt and harness are easily adjustable to tighten or loosen and the sturdy leather upper strap lets you add or remove a nail bag or tool holders with ease.

  • Highest grade and quality leather
  • Australian Design registered
  • High-quality, heavy-duty German and Italian rivets.

Test #3: Construction

A glance at BuildPro products shows straight away each one is of the highest standard.

BuildPro owns and operates its own tannery, allowing control of the leather and product quality from start to finish. Only premium top-grain leather is used for the holders and nail bags. It’s the only leather good enough for BuildPro. All leathers are not equal, and the majority of other tool-belt suppliers don’t use this same premium quality leather.

Even the rivets used to hold the leather are high-quality German and Italian product.
