Bosch Blue launches world’s first surface laser

Bosch Blue say their new GSL 2 Professional surface laser is a world first and is raising standards for quickly and reliably displaying floor surface irregularities.

Bosch state that until now, screed layers, floorers and tilers have relied on traditional inspection methods such as calibers, line lasers and water level gages to check floor planarity. However, these measuring instruments cannot map the entire floor
surface of a room.

The GSL 2 Professional surface laser with its 360-degree rotating laser head is a ground-breaking instrument – it projects two laser lines onto the floor surface; if the surface is even, the two lines meet and are perceived as one line. Where there is even the slightest surface irregularity, the lines will deviate from each other.

Easy to operate, tradesman need only select a reference point to check the floor evenness. Once switched on, the GSL 2 Professional automatically levels itself within five seconds and instantly begins to work. Tradesmen merely observe the laser lines, marking any deviations on the surface.

Using the remote control, this can be done from different positions in the room and repeated numerous times. The target plate, which comes complete with the instrument, is used at the marked positions: it shows at a glance whether the deviations are depressions or elevations and how great the height difference is to
the reference point.

The levelling accuracy of the surface laser is 0.3 millimetres per meter, and the working range with a target plate is 20 meters. Its remote control RC 2 Professional also has the same range.

The instrument can be powered either by 10.8 volt lithium-ion battery, which is compatible with all professional tools in this voltage class from Bosch Blue, or by four non-rechargeable batteries.

The GSL 2 Professional comes in L-BOXX with RC2, target plate and safety glasses, and is available now at an RRP of $699 (with 4 AA batteries).
