Seven impact drivers from the leading brands, a length of Laminated Veneer Lumbar (LVL) – extremely dense and tough wood – a few boxes of 75mm baton screws and someone willing to spend the day pushing the impact drivers to their limits. No pilot hole, no breaks, no prisoners.
Long time tool tester Stu Wauchop volunteered at gunpoint for the job and the boys at DCR Constructions hooked us up a site. Operation ‘try and kill impact drivers or their batteries’ was a go and we kicked off in alphabetical order. After nearly 15 minutes of ruthless pain the Bosch battery ground to a halt having driven some 51 baton screws into the LVL. We all nodded our heads impressed as Stu pondered his ordeal ahead.
We were going to need more screws……..
