Honeywell Rig Dog™ High Impact Gloves

Updated: July 22, 2020

Hand injuries are a major problem in heavy-duty industrial environments. That’s why Honeywell revolutionised hand protection with the Rig Dog™ range of High Impact gloves.

According to the Bureau Of Labor Statistics, in 1.1 million workplace hand injuries – 43% of all recordable injuries on drilling rigs – 70% of workers weren’t wearing gloves.

Honeywell drew from years of experience in industrial workplaces to innovate Rig Dog™ gloves. No matter whether you work in oil and gas, mining, construction, or another high-risk job, Rig Dog™ has a patented design that provides the comfortable, heavy-duty protection and dexterity your team needs to work confidently and effectively.

Honeywell Rig Dog™ Gloves

Tough jobs call for tough gloves. New Rig Dog gloves are made to keep your team safe and in control when handling hazardous oily surfaces. They provide enhanced impact protection, they meet the EN388:2016 and have been developed to achieve the highest level of impact protection (level 3) from ANSI/ISEA 138 to be published in 2019. Special additional layers provide F ISO cut level resistance, guard against abrasions and enhance grip.

Honeywell’s patented Honeycomb structured thermoplastic rubber (TPR) offers enhanced impact protection and energy absorption on the back of the hand without compromising dexterity and comfort, and a layer of knitted fabric with foam inside serves as the substrate of TPR on the back of the glove. The inner layer offers moisture absorption and a quick-dry function to quickly absorb sweat and keep hands dry. Rig Dog™ gloves are designed with an emphasis on the wearer’s comfort, even during long, demanding shifts.

Thanks to patented CoreNest™ technology, Rig Dog™ not only complies with EN 388 mechanical and impact standards (P), it also performs 17% better on impact tests than standard glove materials. Rig Dog™ gloves were developed to achieve the level 2 of impact protection, according to ANSI/ISEA 138, published in the U.S. in 2019.

That’s not all. Their cut resistance, moisture management and oil-permeation resistance on the palm also were better than the other gloves tested.
